Intentional farming. Exceptional pork.

The heart behind our farm

A strong connection to nature and deep appreciation for food are at the heart of our work at Cattail Farm. We’re on a journey using regenerative agriculture to give our animals the best life, restore our land to a thriving ecosystem, and provide our community with nutritious and delicious food.

About our pork

We raise our hogs outdoors in forests and pastures, where they can root, wallow, and roam freely in fresh air and sunshine. Their movable electric fencing is rotated weekly onto fresh ground, keeping the pigs healthy while naturally improving soil health and encouraging diverse plant growth.

Our hogs are fed a freshly milled ration sourced from a local certified organic farm that practices regenerative agriculture. The feed is a blend of organic corn, soybeans, barley, and black sunflower seeds, providing the energy, protein, and nutrients needed for healthy growth. In addition to their daily feed, our pigs actively forage in their paddocks, grazing grasses, clover, and many other plants. This combination of wholesome feed and fresh forage supports their well-being while contributing to the rich flavor of the pork.

By sourcing feed locally, we support neighboring farmers, strengthen the local economy, and reduce the distance feed travels to our farm.

Together, these practices produce delicious, high-quality pork that is flavorful, responsibly raised, and something you can feel good about eating.
